Fernley Senior Center April Volunteer of the Month

"I love teaching and sharing" .

LaVelle Castillo is a retired Railroad clerk and has been in Fernley NV for 2 ½ years after moving from Rye Patch, NV with husbanc Bob.

She has volunteered at the Senior Center for the past 2 years and has been a volunteer for 10 years.

LaVelle spends 30 hours a week helping with Quilting, Scrapbooking, crocheting and crafts and says, "I love teaching and sharing". After all, she's had a lot of practice with her 8 children through the years.

Her favorite thing about volunteering is enjoying the "The lovely people" and encourages others to become a volunteer simply because, as she says, "It's a lot of fun."
