The 2nd Annual Fernley Fall Fun Fair will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 5th, 6th and 7th at 'Out of Town' Park.

TWO DAY SALE WILL SUPPORT VET PROJECTS
American Legion Post #37 is staging a rummage sale September 6 and 7,  at the storage facility located at 405 E. Main Street, Fernley. The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 3 p.m., with proceeds going to support many local activities. 
Items to be donated to the sale may be dropped off at Fernley Mini-Storage from to 5 to 7:30 p.m., or a pick up of merchandise may be arranged by calling, and leaving a message for Jerry Finley at 575-0420 or Darris Daniel at 575-2173.

The city of Fernley will holds it's annual 9/11 remembrance at the Out of Town Park bandstand from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The ceremony will commemorate the victims of 9/11, honor our men and women of service who protect us abroad and here at home. The Honor Guard will be present and a special performance will be provided by the Sierra Highlanders bagpipe group

Joe Dini's Old Fashioned Democratic Picnic will be held at Fort Churchill State Park, Silver Springs on Sunday, Sept. 14. BBQ will start at 12 noon and auction at 2:00 p.m. Games and fun for the entire family. The guest of honor will be Senator Richard Bryan, and many other candidates from both parties will be there to meet all attendees. Senior Pro Rodeo Saturday and Sunday Sept 27th & 28th. The Fernley Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for this years National Senior Pro Rodeo. Great news! Shhh there’s a mystery prize give away when you purchase an admission ticket, so hang on to those ticket stubs!


COMMUNITY APPRECIATION EVENT 

The Fernley Long Term Flood Recovery Team will be hosting a Community Appreciation Event to be held in the parking lot of the Fernley First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 11am -3pm. 

We are in the planning stages of the event to thank all the many volunteers and businesses in Northern Nevada, California and other areas of the country who came forward to assist the Fernley community in the days and months following the January 5, 2008 flood.
