FINALLY! EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE!

Lyon County School Board not to use money that has been set aside to replace the track and football field at FHS

Dear FYFL parent, volunteer, community member,

Recently the Lyon County School Board has decided not to use money that has been set aside to replace the track and football field at Fernley High School. Fernley High School and the Booster Club has asked for FYFL's support and the support of the community to let the School Board know that we as Fernley residence and community members want that money used for what it was set aside for.

For many years now efforts have been made to replace the track and football field. Not only is it used by the football teams and track teams but by other organization such as FYFL and for the educational purposes such as PE which is a required class at Fernley High School. Right now the track and the field are a safety issue. It has been many years since a FHS track meat has been held due to the unsafe conditions. Recently there have been reports of individuals being hurt on the field as well.

The money that will be used for this project is sitting there. This would not require a tax increase or another school bond. The School District has the money set aside to replace the track and field and make it a safe place for all Fernley High School athletes, students, and parents but also every other organization that uses the track and/or field.

What we are asking from you is for you to make a quick phone call or shoot out a quick email to Mr. Joe Slabbinck from the Lyon County School Board. A school board member that was voted into to his position.

The contact information is: 775-575-1116 or email him at jslabbinck@lyon.k12.nv.us .
Another way to have our voices heard and seen is by attending the next Lyon County School Board Meeting on April 22nd in Silver Springs. The meeting will start at 6:30pm.

Any questions please call 575-2643 or email info@fernleyyouthfootballleague.com.

Thank you.
