Annual Weather Summary: November 2009 to October 2010

Winter temperatures will be above normal, with the coldest periods in early to mid-December and early February. Precipitation will be above normal, with below-normal snowfall from Reno to Salt Lake City and above-normal snowfall in most other areas. The snowiest periods will occur in early and mid-November, mid- and late December, and mid- and late January.

April and May will be slightly warmer and wetter than normal.

Summer will be cooler and slightly rainier than normal, although there will be hot weather in early July and early August.

September and October will be slightly warmer and drier than normal.

JANUARY 2010: temperature 34° (4° above avg.); precipitation 2" (0.5" above avg.);
Jan 1-6: Snow showers, then sunny;
Jan 7-8: Sunny, mild;
Jan 9-12: Snow showers north; sunny, mild south;
Jan 13-18: Snowy periods, seasonable;
Jan 19-26: Rain, then sunny, mild;
Jan 27-29: Rain and snow showers, seasonable;
Jan 30-31: Snow, colder.

FEBRUARY 2010: temperature 32° (1° below avg.); precipitation 0.5" (1" below avg.);
Feb 1-3: Sunny north, snow south; cold;
Feb 4-8: Snow showers, cold;
Feb 9-13: Sunny, mild;
Feb 14-17: Snow showers, seasonable;
Feb 18-22: Showers, then flurries, colder;
Feb 23-25: Sunny, cold;
Feb 26-28: Flurries, seasonable.
